Testing process through HealthLabs
The other groups of people, who can use HealthLabs and choose among thousands of CLIA-certified clinical laboratories across the country, are people who wish to get peace of mind or get lab tests that their physician doesn't wish to order.
A customer can get lab tests done by following three simple steps. The first one is to choose a lab test or call customer service to get a consultation about what test is the best option, regarding of goals or health condition.
There are almost 500 tests divided by 19 categories for patient’s convenience. It is easy to find the test by its name or browse through categories to find the best option.
If this process seems to be complicated (test name synonyms, several options and hard to choose which one is correct, etc.) HealthLabs.com has also trained healthcare advisers who can help customers to choose the right test, or advice on what to do next, after lab tests are done and results are abnormal.
The second step is to visit a testing site. HealthLabs is working with Quest Diagnostics, the largest U.S. laboratory. Patients can choose the nearest location among 2,000 laboratories nationwide.
Most of them are working Monday to Friday, but some locations are also available on Saturdays. It can come in handy when there is no ability get off the work during the business week. Furthermore, tests take about only 10 minutes or even less that helps to save even more time.
Another time-saving feature is that doctor office visit can be skipped two times: the first one is when a patient gets a lab requisition, the second one when a patient needs to take his results back.
Since lab testing is very quick and a patient can get test results only within three days, patients can get answers to medical questions and start treatment if there are any signs of disease or illness. It's a known fact, that treatment of illnesses or diseases in their early stages is cheaper and less complicated in most cases.
HealthLabs practitioner program and restrictions
HealthLabs is supporting not only patients but also physicians and other healthcare providers through their Provider/Practitioner Program.
During their practice, doctors don't have any time to spend in order to find the most convenient and low-cost options for their patients and try to spend as much time as possible with a patient.
Because of this lack of time, patients have to pay an additional cost for tests that were ordered by a doctor and spend more time on a subsequent visit and for lab testing at a hospital or other healthcare facility.
From another point of view, doctors can't afford to spend more time for research and not interested in lab tests cost. However, they have a set of most-ordered tests they need to diagnose and treat specific health conditions.
With HealthLabs, doctors can create their own test panels. It saves time for healthcare providers since they don't have to search for tests they usually order together.
It helps also to save patient's time and money since tests from DAT laboratory are cheaper than same tests ordered at hospital or clinic.
Unfortunately, residents of the states of Maryland, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island cannot use HealthLabs services because of legal restrictions in these states. According to the states law, direct access testing is not allowed and so the company cannot operate in these state.
